In solemn tribute to America’s missing heroes, VFW Post 9539 welcomed members of Rolling Thunder for a powerful presentation commemorating National POW/MIA Recognition Day. The event, held on Friday afternoon, drew veterans, families, and community members together in a shared moment of remembrance and resolve.
The ceremony featured the iconic Missing Man Table, a symbolic display honoring those who never returned from war. Each element of the table—from the single red rose to the inverted glass—served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
Rolling Thunder, known nationally for its advocacy and motorcycle rides that spotlight POW/MIA issues, delivered a stirring presentation that emphasized the ongoing mission to account for over 81,000 Americans still unreturned from past conflicts. Their message was clear: "We will never forget.”
The event concluded with silence. After a touching presentation a mood of empathy could be felt though out the room.
